Including when they were the Colorado Rockies, the Avs are 47-38-9 all time against the Devils. The teams' most notable matchup was in 2001, where they met in the Stanley Cup Final. Left winger Jesper Bratt leads the Devils in points with 12, tallying three goals and nine assists in the young season. The leading goal scorer for the team is a four-way tie between wingers Jesper Bratt and Ondrej Palat and centers Nico Hischier and Dawson Mercer.
LINEUP UPDATES
The Avalanche announced last Wednesday that captain Gabriel Landeskog will now be sidelined for at least 12 weeks after undergoing surgery. Veteran center Darren Helm is still sidelined after undergoing offseason surgery but has been skating.
Defenseman Devon Toews returned from a two-game absence this past Tuesday in the team's contest against the New York Rangers.
Goaltender Jonathan Bernier is currently on long-term injured reserve for New Jersey as he is still recovering from offseason surgery on his lower body.

He also extended his season-opening point streak to seven games, tied with the Devils' Jesper Bratt for the longest point streak in the league this season.
