The Colorado Avalanche are set to take on the team on the other side of the Hudson River, the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center at 5 p.m. MT. Tonight's game is the front end of a back-to-back, which will conclude tomorrow night in UBS Arena against the New York Islanders.

HISTORY
Including when they were the Colorado Rockies, the Avs are 47-38-9 all time against the Devils. The teams' most notable matchup was in 2001, where they met in the Stanley Cup Final. Colorado would defeat New Jersey in a hard fought, seven-game series that featured Hall of Famers Martin Brodeur, Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg and Ray Bourque.

SCOUTING THE DEVILS
Left winger Jesper Bratt leads the Devils in points with 12, tallying three goals and nine assists in the young season. The leading goal scorer for the team is a four-way tie between wingers Jesper Bratt and Ondrej Palat and centers Nico Hischier and Dawson Mercer.
LINEUP UPDATES
The Avalanche announced last Wednesday that captain Gabriel Landeskog will now be sidelined for at least 12 weeks after undergoing surgery. Veteran center Darren Helm is still sidelined after undergoing offseason surgery but has been skating.
Defenseman Devon Toews returned from a two-game absence this past Tuesday in the team's contest against the New York Rangers.
Goaltender Jonathan Bernier is currently on long-term injured reserve for New Jersey as he is still recovering from offseason surgery on his lower body.
Devils forward Ondrej Palat is sidelined with a lower-body injury.

He also extended his season-opening point streak to seven games, tied with the Devils' Jesper Bratt for the longest point streak in the league this season.
