Defeat at Home

The Avalanche lost 3-1 to the Vegas Golden Knights in Game Two of the Western Conference Final at Ball Arena on Friday. Ross Colton scored for Colorado while Brent Burns and Nazem Kadri each posted an assist.

"You know you're running into adversity and you know you're gonna lose some games in the playoffs," Avalanche Head Coach Jared Bednar said. "That's just facts...You have to deal with the task at hand and what's to come. We're not going to try to win four games the next night in Vegas. We're going to try to win one game, right? And it can sound cliche is what it is, but that's how we approach it. Focus on our process, what we need to do."

How It Happened

Colton opened the scoring at 16:59 of the first period with his second goal of the playoffs via a turnaround shot from the slot, capitalizing on the rebound created by Burns' right-point attempt.

Jack Eichel tied the game at 9:15 of the third period via a right-circle shot off the rush.

The Golden Knights took a 2-1 lead at 11:22 of the third period when Ivan Barbashev scored via a shot from the high slot.

Barbashev doubled Vegas' lead at 18:57 of the third period via an empty-net tally.
