Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Teemu Pulkkinen (pronounced TEE-moo PUHL-kih-nuhn) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Pulkkinen, 24 (1/2/92), has recorded one goal in eight games with Minnesota this season and 15 points (8-7=15) in 18 games with Iowa in the AHL. He was claimed off of waivers from the Detroit Red Wings on Oct. 11. Pulkkinen leads Iowa in goals, power-play goals (4), shots on goal (60) and ranks second in scoring. He was named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week on Nov. 28 after tallying a goal in four consecutive road games (5-2=7), including two game-winning goals. The Vantaa, Finland, native owns 21 points (12-9=21) in 78 career NHL contests with Detroit and Minnesota. Pulkkinen was originally selected by Detroit in the fourth round (111th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and wears jersey No. 17 with the Wild.
