• The Dallas Stars face the Toronto Maple Leafs Thursday night at American Airlines Center for the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. The Stars look to snap a four-game winless streak (0-2-2) against the Maple Leafs, which dates back to March 15, 2022.
• Last season, Dallas earned a record of 0-1-1 against Toronto. In two games, they went 1-for-11 on the power play (9.1%) and 9-for-10 (90.0%) on the penalty kill. 
• Forward Matt Duchene has earned six points (2-4—6) in his last seven games against the Maple Leafs, contributing to a total of 15 points (5-10—15) in 21 career games against them.

Goaltender Jake Oettinger made a season-high 38 saves on 39 shots in a 4-1 win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday night. Among goaltenders who have played at least two games this season, Oettinger shares third with three wins and fifth with a 1.44 goals-against average and ranks sixth with a .952 save percentage. The Lakeville, Minnesota native finished last season tied for third in wins (37) and sixth in save percentage (.919) and ranked seventh in goals-against average (2.37) among goalies who have played at least 25 games, and he tied for second in the league with four shutouts.
