Jayden Halbgewachs, 22, has been selected as the Sharks Prospect of the Week for the week of Oct. 7 after posting a goal and two assists in two games played for the San Jose Barracuda, the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
During the 2018-19 campaign, Halbgewachs collected 35 points (13g, 22a) with a +9 rating over 64 games for the Barracuda. He recorded points in his first four professional games (2g, 3a), finished second among Barracuda rookies in points (35), goals (13) and assists (22), and tied for second in power-play goals (2).

His previous four seasons were spent in the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he registered 212 points (104g, 108a) in 240 games overall for the Moose Jaw Warriors, adding another 18 points (10g, 8a) in 17 career WHL playoff games.
The five-foot-nine, 165-pound left winger from Emerald Park, Saskatchewan was signed as a free agent by San Jose December 28, 2017. During that season, Halbgewachs earned WHL (East) First All-Star Team, WHL Most Goals (70), and WHL Most Points (129). In 2016-17, the forward was named to the WHL (East) Second All-Star Team after finishing fifth in the WHL in scoring (101 points) and third in goals (50), leading his team in both categories, and also won several team awards, including co-Player of the Year, Most Sportsmanlike Player, Top Scorer, and was also named the Moose Jaw Fan Choice player of the year.
