Sensgiving Creative - Social 1920x1080 ENG

The Ottawa Senators and the Senators Community Foundation are proud to host Sensgiving at Canadian Tire Centre this week. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to any gate before the team’s home opener against Philadelphia on Oct. 8 and again before their game against Nashville on Oct. 10.

The drives are part of a broader commitment from the Senators and their partners to ensuring food reaches people who need it.

Since 2024, the Senators and Aramark have partnered with Tablée des Chefs through À la Carte – Ottawa’s Food Recovery Program to recover surplus food from Canadian Tire Centre events and redistribute it to members of the community facing food insecurity.

More than 26,000 portions of surplus food — with each portion equivalent to one meal — have been recovered from Canadian Tire Centre and redistributed to members of the Ottawa community facing food insecurity thanks to that partnership.

Through its partnership with Second Harvest, Aramark has also donated food products that have provided the equivalent of 7,084 meals to people in need since 2024.

Together, those initiatives reflect the role that food recovery can play in addressing food insecurity while also keeping good food from going to waste.

The Food Drives will benefit the Ottawa Food Bank, Kanata Food Cupboard, Stittsville Food Bank and Partage Vanier Food Bank, providing food and support directly to people in the community.

For Aramark, the work is part of a long-standing commitment to food recovery and hunger relief. Its partnership with Second Harvest dates back more than 15 years, while its partnership with Tablée des Chefs is entering its third season.

The Senators community has already helped recover thousands of meals through its food-recovery partnerships. On Oct. 8 and 10, fans can help continue that effort by bringing a donation to the rink.

"The strength of our community is measured by how we support one another. Sensgiving gives every fan an opportunity to make a difference,” said Senators Community Foundation president Jacqueline Belsito.

“Whether it's a can of food, a $10 donation, or a larger contribution, every gift matters and helps provide hope, dignity, and nourishment to people across Ottawa. Together, Senators fans can help fill cupboards and hearts this season."
