AFTER PRACTICE: Granato

Following a six-goal loss to Dallas on Thursday, the team is looking ahead to the next challenge.
"These have to be moments you gain experience through. And they will be. We're going to bring it to their attention. We're going to focus on it," coach Don Granato said after practice Friday. "We've talked about it this morning. We've reviewed it this morning. They're going to get better. It doesn't mean they're going to fix it immediately and they can't fix it immediately. What you go through every day you have to use for your benefit."

This is the first of three meetings between the Sabres and Rangers this season.
New York defeated Buffalo 5-4 in overtime at Madison Square Garden in their last matchup on March 27.
The Sabres are 1-6-3 in their last 10 games against the Rangers; 4-2-4 at home.
This is the 197th game all-time between Buffalo and New York; Buffalo has an 85-73-38 series record. The Sabres are 51-30-17 at home against the Rangers all-time.
A goal in tonight's game would give Kyle Okposo his first goal streak of three or more games since he recorded goals in three consecutive games from October 21 to 27, 2018.
Rasmus Dahlin is one assist away from becoming the first Sabres defenseman since Phil Housley in 1989-90 (60) to record 50 or more assists in a single season. With an assist, he would join Housley and John Van Boxmeer as the only defensemen in franchise history to reach 50 assists in a single season.
In his last seven games, Dylan Cozens has recorded seven points (5+2).
The Sabres are currently six points behind Pittsburgh for the second Wild Card spot.
