Mission Statement: EPIC Girl equips teen girls whose lives have intersected with the child welfare system, the justice system, or other high-risk circumstances to discover who they really are, recognize new possibilities for themselves, and write a new story for their futures.

About: EPIC Girl equips teen girls whose lives have intersected with the child welfare system, the justice system, or other difficult life circumstances to discover who they really are, recognize new possibilities for themselves, and write a new story for their futures. In the last year EPIC Girl provided case management, risk level screening and empowerment programming to over 600 girls in residential facilities, alternative schools, Davidson County’s Juvenile Justice Center and juvenile drug courts in two counties. Through psychosocial education, we help girls find their inner hero, turn their challenges into strengths, and grow in emotionally healthy ways. As girls witness a healthier model for life through community and connection, they become cycle breakers who know their worth, live with hope, and embrace their purpose.
Did you Know?
EPIC Girl is the first responder for female runaways in Davidson County. Our staff is trained and equipped to identify trafficking situations or abuse and get girls to safety. Our girls know they can always call us in crisis, whether they need a place to stay, have a run in with the justice system, or need help leaving a bad relationship.
How will funds be used?
Funds will support Case Managers who facilitate our programs across multiple settings that include alternative schools, hardware secure residential facilities, drug court settings, assessment centers, the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center and our home at the Youth Opportunity Center.
