SUNRISE, Fla. - The Florida Panthers announced today that the Florida Panthers Alumni Association has awarded more than $3,000 in total to six youth hockey players from four different associations for the Spring youth hockey travel season.
This spring period, the players that were awarded the scholarship funds were from four different associations including: Barwis Hockey, Palm Beach Blackhawks, Jr. Panthers, and Miami Toros.

"The Florida Panthers Alumni Association is constantly seeking to support youth hockey around South Florida," said Alumni Association President Randy Moller. "We hope these scholarships can impact young hockey players' careers helping them continue to learn the game they have a passion for."
The awardees come from travel and high school programs around the Florida area and were granted based on academic achievement, financial need and merit and community involvement, rather than their skills or talent on the ice.
Through their yearly scholarships and grants program, the Alumni Association has distributed over $320,000.00 to over 1,200 eligible individuals and numerous South Florida youth hockey associations, plus benefiting team sponsors and supporters through speaking engagements, hospital visits, promotional tours, player clinics/appearances and charity hockey games.
