EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have assigned forward Josh Currie to the American Hockey League (AHL)'s Bakersfield Condors.
Currie, 26, has appeared in 21 games for the Oilers this season, posting five points (2G, 3A), two penalty minutes and a +2 plus-minus ranking.
The 5'10", 172-pound forward was recalled from Bakersfield on Feb. 18, his first recall to the NHL. Currie scored his first NHL goal in his third career NHL game, on Feb. 23 vs. Anaheim.
A native of Charlottetown, PEI, he was leading Bakersfield with 24 goals at the time of his promotion. Currie has 37 points (24G, 13A), 13 penalty minutes and a +5 plus-minus rating in 49 games this season with Bakersfield.
Currie was signed to his first NHL contract by the Oilers on July 18, 2018, after leading Bakersfield in scoring in 2017-18, his third season in the AHL.
