(Edmonton, AB) -The Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club is pleased to announce the launch of its newest digital asset, the Club Oilers mobile app presented by The Brick. Built by Mazu, Club Oilers is an avatar-based app designed to create a friendly atmosphere for young, current and emerging Edmonton Oilers fans. Club Oilers is suitable for both iPhone and Android devices and is now available in the App Store and Google Play.

Young Oilers fans and their families can test their knowledge of the team and learn more about their favourite players while in a fun and safe environment. Through Club Oilers, the Edmonton Oilers official mascot Hunter and The Brick's community relations mascot will act as extensions of their community-driven initiatives.
"Our fan base has unmatched passion for Oilers hockey, and Club Oilers is yet another experience we are proud to share with our young fans and families to keep them connected to our team through this fun and engaging mobile app," said Oilers Entertainment Group Chief Commercial Officer Stew MacDonald. "We're excited to offer exclusive content through Club Oilers for kids to enjoy in an entertaining, interactive and safe platform."
Club Oilers in partnership with The Brick will leverage the Club Oilers mobile app to engage young fans in the community to help them interact with Oilers players they admire, while the app engages the whole family by connecting them with family-friendly events, in-game experiences and community initiatives happening throughout the year.
"The Brick is excited to be partnering with the Edmonton Oilers and bringing Brickley to life for the Club Oilers app with the latest and greatest in technology for young fan engagement," said President of The Brick, Dave Freeman.
Club Oilers creator, Mazu, uses their app offerings to bring families together by developing meaningful experiences that engage the whole family both on and offline. Developed to safely connect kids and families with their favourite sports teams, Mazu's Club apps offer exclusive content in a single-protected platform.
"We are thrilled that the Edmonton Oilers - one of the NHL's most storied franchises - have joined the Mazu family. Together with our sports partners we're building meaningful connections between families, fans and communities" said CEO and Founder Janice Taylor. "Organizations like the Oilers are leading the way when it comes to next generation fan engagement and together we can grow their community of young fans in a safe and positive environment."
Using the Club Oilers app, children can create custom team avatars, track schedules and statistics, participate in daily challenges, play trivia, earn badges and more. Content is specifically designed to promote positive messaging, STEM education and core values. Users can also communicate with other fans, safely and securely. Mazu's advanced chat monitoring technology filters bad language, abusive comments and can even decipher harmful or negative messaging, all fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and certified by Privo.
For parents, Club Oilers will have Mazu's Family Manager tool to monitor activities like friend requests and sharing. Parental consent is required for a child to sign-up, publicly share and other participation. Children will use avatars instead of profile photos to maintain anonymity and safety. No personal data is ever collected or stored and the platform is 100 per cent ad free.
