BUFFALO, N.Y. - Acadie-Bathurst Titan defenceman Noah Dobson had a stellar 2017-18 season.
His club, the Acadie Bathurst Titan, won the President's Cup as Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champions then followed it up by claiming the Memorial Cup in Regina, Sk.
Dobson played a major part in helping guide his team to success. He led all defencemen in scoring at the tournament with two goals and seven points in four games. Asked whether he believed his draft stock may have risen due to his most recent performance, Dobson weighed the idea.
"It's hard to say," he started. "Teams watch all year but on a big stage like the Mem Cup, there's obviously lots of eyes on you. It's a chance to showcase yourself and I feel like my performance at the Mem Cup could help me for sure. At the same time, they take a picture of your whole season and go off that but it definitely could help me."
Dobson says his best on-ice attributes are his skating and hockey IQ. The right-shot rearguard models his game after St. Louis Blues defender Alex Pietrangelo.
"I think we play a similar style," Dobson said of Pietrangelo. "He's a good two-way D in the League. He's a puck-mover, very reliable defensively and at the same time he produces offensively, too."
