EDMONTON, AB - Oilers Head Coach Todd McLellan didn't like his team's execution against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday. Edmonton dropped a 3-2 decision, registering their first loss of the 2017-18 campaign.
On Sunday at practice, McLellan assessed where things went wrong for his club a night prior.
"We took a long look at how well prepared we were in special teams situations, how well prepared we were in chances against more than anything," the head coach said. "In those two areas, we just got drilled."

Against the Calgary Flames on Wednesday, the Oilers played tight defensively and owned the puck.
"The night before (against the Flames) we were very good defensively, we did a lot of things well and we checked our butts off," he said. "Last night, we were way too loose, way too cute and the team that wanted to play gritty, hard and on the inside created way too many (chances) against us."
