Situation Room Initiated Challenge: VGK @ NJD - 0:41 of Overtime

At 0:41 of overtime in the Golden Knights/Devils game, the Situation Room initiated a review under the terms of a Coach's Challenge to examine New Jersey's entry into the Vegas zone prior to Nico Hischier's goal.

After reviewing all available replays and consulting with the Linesman, the Situation Room determined that Nate Schmidt propelled the puck into the Vegas zone, negating any potential off-side. According to Rule 83.1, "If a player legally carries or passes the puck back into his own defending zone while a player of the opposing team is in such defending zone, the off-side shall be ignored and play permitted to continue."
Therefore, the original call stands - good goal New Jersey Devils.
