VAN@VGK: Marchessault, Golden Knights net four in 3rd

LAS VEGAS -- Evgenii Dadonov and Jonathan Marchessault each scored two goals for the Vegas Golden Knights in a 7-4 victory against the Vancouver Canucks at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday.

Dadonov, who also had an assist, had his first multipoint game with the Golden Knights. The forward was acquired in a trade with the Ottawa Senators on July 28.
"I think [Dadonov's] been getting better and better. Like all goal scorers he's a streaky guy," Golden Knights coach Peter DeBoer said. "When I look back at the first dozen games, he could easily have three or four more. If or when we get healthy … I think he's going to score consistently all year."
Marchessault scored his 100th and 101st goals with the Golden Knights in the third period and extended his point streak to six games (seven goals, two assists). He is the first player in their history to reach the milestone.
"Obviously pretty proud of that," Marchessault said. "I take a lot of pride in playing for the Golden Knights and being here since Day 1. Working hard every night, trying to help my teammates win a hockey game. VGK is the pride of my career."
Vegas forward Mark Stone had an assist in 18:38 after missing 12 games with a lower-body injury.
"Turned the puck over my first shift for a goal, took a penalty on the second shift for a goal, so it couldn't get any worse," Stone said on his start. "I definitely felt better as the game went on. I haven't even had a practice really yet. It's been a long month for me, but I'm just excited to get back out there with the guys."
Jake Leschyshyn, playing his 13th NHL game, had a goal and an assist for his first points in the NHL, and Robin Lehner made 39 saves for the Golden Knights (9-6-0), who have won eight of 10.

Nils Hoglander had two goals and an assist, and Thatcher Demko made 32 saves for the Canucks (5-8-2), who allowed seven goals for the second straight game. They lost 7-1 at the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.
"I didn't think it was a 7-4 game," Canucks defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson said. "I thought we came out harder, like we talked about after the last game. I thought we did a lot of good things in the first and second, and we'd like to have some plays back in the third."
Marchessault gave Vegas a 5-4 lead at 8:24 of the third period on the power play.
Dadonov scored his second goal at 14:04 off a pass from Stone to make it 6-4, and Marchessault scored his second 1:23 later at 15:27 for the 7-4 final.
J.T. Miller scored on a breakaway at 3:09 of the first period to give the Canucks a 1-0 lead.
Tanner Pearson made it 2-0 at 5:56 on a deflection in front of the crease.
"I thought it was a much better effort from our group tonight. I loved our start in the game," Canucks coach Travis Green said. "Obviously there's a couple of plays in the game that we'd like to have back, and there's definitely a couple of calls that should've never been called against us."
Dadonov cut it to 2-1 at 19:46 on a 5-on-3 power play.
Reilly Smith tied it 2-2 at 5:50 of the second period off a neutral-zone turnover that led to a 2-on-1.

Brayden McNabb gave the Golden Knights a 3-2 lead at 10:51 from the left circle off a cross-ice pass from Shea Theodore.
Hoglander tied it 3-3 at 17:15. His initial attempt was saved by Lehner, but the puck rested under his right pad and Hoglander scored on the rebound.
Leschyshyn scored at 2:20 of the third to give the Golden Knights a 4-3 lead, but Hoglander scored his second goal 52 seconds later to tie it 4-4 at 3:12.
"Tonight was not the prettiest game for us," Marchessault said. "I think we could've done a better job in the first two periods, but good teams find a way to win."
