Pavel Buchnevich paddled the St. Louis Blues to an overtime win on Friday.

The Blues forward chose a unique way to celebrate his overtime winning goal against the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena.

With just under two minutes left in overtime, Buchnevich scored on a pass from Brayden Schenn to give the Blues a 4-3 win. He then got on one knee and moved his stick in rowing motion to celebrate the goal.

The goal was Buchnevich’s second of the night.

Not all Buchnevich’s teammates understood what the forward was trying to do.

In a video posted by the Blues, forward Robert Thomas said he didn’t see the celebration and had no idea what Buchnevich was talking about when he explained it.

Thomas then had a priceless reaction when shown a video of the celebration.

“What the hell is that?” Thomas said after the video with a laugh.

Buchnevich confirmed to the Blues he was kayaking after his goal. He was inspired by a KHL player who performed the move after scoring for the first time in two years.
