EAGER TO BOUNCE BACK
Safe to say the Winnipeg Jets got away from their game Tuesday in their 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens to kick off their season long five game road trip. Wednesday, Rick Bowness had the team back on the ice for a practice in Toronto hoping to get his team back on track.
"We haven't practiced very much in the last probably six weeks, maybe two or three practices," said Bowness on Wednesday.
"Our execution with our passes was way off. So more than anything we wanted the players a lot of touches with the puck, give-and-go's and putting pucks on the tape instead of in the skates or five feet ahead of them."
The Jets will be looking to avenge a 4-1 loss to the Leafs back in October when the teams met in Winnipeg.

TARGET ON THEIR BACK
Now that the Jets are in first place in the division, they expect the other team's best every night. Rick Bowness said a great example was what happened in Montreal Tuesday, Dallas had a 3-0 lead in San Jose and ended up losing to the Sharks 5-3. Bowness says his message to the players remains, as hard as it's been to get to first place, it's going to be a lot harder to stay there. Clearly, this is a great time to see if that message is going to sink in with the Toronto Maple Leafs providing the opposition here tonight.
LINE SHUFFLING
Bowness admitted he hasn't been happy with his team's play over the last five games so he turned on the line blender and there will be some new look trio's against the Leafs. Starting with Blake Wheeler skating with Kyle Connor and Pierre-Luc Dubois, Morgan Barron and Nikolaj Ehlers joining Mark Scheifele, Cole Perfetti on the left side of Adam Lowry and Saku Maenalanen. Sam Gagner will come back into the lineup.
