DISCIPLINE
As the Jets look to bounce back from a 3-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets to start their four-game road trip, discipline has to be one of the first keys to tonight's game. Winnipeg was one of the least penalized teams in the NHL for a long stretch and while they haven't piled on the penalty minutes as of late, it's the timing of the penalties they are taking that is hurting them. There were 13 combined power plays in Columbus on Thursday. The Jets were dominant in the first period but then they took back-to-back penalties in the second frame that allowed the Blue Jackets to climb back into the game.
"So, when you get some things going and you're playing really well," said Rick Bowness after Thursday's loss.
"The last thing you want to do is take back-to-back penalties and get their (best) guys out there. We'll address that."
Winnipeg will have to make sure to stay out of the box to help take advantage of a Devils team that played last night in Pittsburgh.

LINE BLENDER
Rick Bowness promised there would be change to the personnel ahead of tonight's game against New Jersey and he has delivered. The Jets marched out four new lines and two new power play units at practice at Prudential Center on Saturday afternoon.

"We haven't been scoring goals. We're not getting to the net and we're playing two teams (Devils and Rangers) that are obviously highly skilled, play at a high speed," said Bowness.
"We've got a checker on each line. But we want that checker to get to the net. We're not getting enough net presence."
POWER PLAY WOES
The power play has three goals in its last 33 opportunities and had three 5-on-3's on Thursday night and failed to score on all three. Bowness is now going with Nate Schmidt, Josh Morrissey, Mark Scheifele, Blake Wheeler and Cole Perfetti on one unit. The other unit is Kyle Connor, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Nikolaj Ehlers, Kevin Stenlund and Neal Pionk.
