It's unheard of.
An expansion team making the Stanley Cup Final in its first year of existence? Not likely. No sport has ever seen anything like the Vegas Golden Knights.

The team's unique Twitter account was as jubilant as expected.

Fans celebrated by taking to social media to applaud their team, at least the ones that didn't gather outside T-Mobile Arena.

One of the first in line, right along with MLB all-star Bryce Harper who posted a celebratory picture
on his Instagram story
, was Las Vegas mayor Carolyn Goodman. The mayor went full cartoon avatar to express her excitement.

The city's official Twitter account backed her up, of course.

Mr. Vegas himself, Wayne Newton, who
rang the siren before Game 4 of the Western Conference Final
, got in on the act as well.

Many of the Las Vegas hotels chimed in. They will likely haveto be ready for some incoming fans, either from Tampa or Washington D.C.

The Twitter account for EA Sports NHL, makers of the popular video game, tweeted out a good one. EA's preseason simulation predicted 78 points for the Golden Knights and a Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Edmonton Oilers Stanley Cup Final.

The University of Nevada Las Vegas went as far as to paste a Golden Knights jersey on its mascot, the Runnin' Rebel.

And we all knew we would hear from the team's
fluffiest fan, Bark-Andre Furry
.

In all the excitement, the Golden Knights seemingly made a rookie mistake when they touched the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl after winning it on Sunday.

But don't worry, Nevada. It really is just a myth and the team has a very good source on that.
