"We are pleased to announce that Jo has found a good, loving home," Sharks COO John Tortora said.
Pawvelski, named after Sharks captain Joe Pavelski, had been recuperating at the Humane Society of Silicon Valley since May 1. Her living quarters were decked out in Sharks towels and blankets, and she has been on display on a live feed on the humane society's website.
"I want to thank the staff and volunteers at the Humane Society Silicon Valley for the time and attention they have dedicated to Jo and the other animals in their care," Tortora said. "I also want to thank our fans who immediately expressed concern for the well-being of the cat."
The cat inspired at least three Twitter accounts and the Sharks debuted a life-sized Jo Paw-velski mascot during Game 5 of the second round. San Jose is planning to hand out black-cat towels to the first 500 fans who arrive at its Game 1 viewing party Sunday at SAP Center.
San Jose opens the conference final at the St. Louis Blues on Sunday (8 p.m. ET, NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports).
