GEOFF WARD ON THE NIGHT:

"Going into tonight's game, I really liked the focus of our group and where it's at. I thought we made some real smart decisions tonight in terms of some of the things that we did. Everyone that watches a lot of playoff hockey knows that if you're having a tough time defending, you're going to have a tough time getting to where you want to go."

WARD ON GAME 2:

"We know that's a real good hockey team over there. Nothing's happened yet. We've won one game and that doesn't mean anything. We know they're going to be better next game and we've got to be ready for that."

TALBOT ON GETTING THE START:

"When the team, the coaches show confidence in you to get the start for Game 1, it means a lot. ... I felt pretty good in there. Those are tough games to play, especially when you know how much firepower they have up front."

TKACHUK ON THE ATMOSPHERE:

"It's quiet out there and it's easy to communicate when you're on the bench. It's like when you're watching a game from upstairs, you're seeing things that you don't normally catch. It's good, you can help each other out - if a guy has more time, or if someone is going to hit you."

GAUDREAU ON HIS MARKER:

"It was nice. Kind of just try and block all that stuff out. It was nice to tie the game up there and we got rolling right after that. A lot of great play from a lot of great players. I'm really happy with our team effort tonight. From the powerplay, penalty kill to goaltending, I thought we did a great job tonight."

TKACHUK ON THE BIG DAY FOR NHL:

"We're fans, too. We enjoy watching it. I caught myself looking up at the screen all day long trying to get caught up on the games. It's great for hockey to be back and we're so happy to be a part of it. The NHL has done a great job putting these bubbles together. We feel safe in here."

RIEDER ON HIS TALLY:

"I just saw the hard time coming and they were trying to hold it in at the blueline. It squirted out right in front of my feet, and I had plenty of room to skate. I was pretty much just trying to settle the puck down. When I did, I had to decide to do something, so I went to my backhand and luckily it went in."
