On Nashville Predators road trips next season, the question will be "Can P.K. Subban win at his own game?"
Video game, that is.

The all-star defenseman was announced as the cover athlete for EA Sports NHL 19, the latest edition of the super popular video game franchise.

Subban was introduced on stage at the 2018 NHL Awards presented by Hulu at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas on Wednesday. It is a game he grew up playing.
"It's pretty special, you know when I first found out that I was going to be on the cover I had to pinch myself and I am still pinching myself," Subban said backstage at the event. "When I look at it, it doesn't really seem real. Seems like it was yesterday I was opening up NHL 03 with Jarome Iginla on the front, playing NHL for the first time. Now to think to be on the cover and representing the NHL is pretty special achievement."

There is one little issue, though. Subban is going to have some tough competition.
"Usually (Roman) Josi and (Anthony) Bitetto play. Next year I'm obviously going to have to bring my game. I'm not very good at it, so they're gonna beat me, but it's not gonna really matter if I'm on the cover," Subban said. "I've heard Ryan Ellis is pretty good at video games. Sneaky good. Nick Bonino is really good. Tony Bitetto is really good. Josi thinks he's good. He's not. But Bitetto and I would have to say Nick Bonino. Craig Smith is pretty good too."
Subban says he has an XBox portable console now, but grew up playing against his brothers, Vegas Golden Knights goalie Malcolm Subban and Los Angeles Kings defenseman Jordan Subban, on the original PlayStation.
"I always won. My brothers, I never let them win anything. I was never really good at the game but I was good enough to beat them," Subban said.
