The auditions continue.
"I'm just taking it day-by-day," said Rasmus Andersson late Wednesday evening, following the Flames loss to the visiting Ducks. "I want to stay here as long as possible. We'll see.

"My mindset is that I've got to make the most of this opportunity.
"I felt pretty good tonight.
"I had a lot of confidence with the puck, made some plays.
"I thought I was better than last game (Monday in Arizona). Played more to my strengths. A little more jump.
"I've got to play harder in the D-zone, though. That fourth goal wasn't good enough for me. I've gotta box out my guy better.
"I mean, it's always difficult when your team loses. This is such an important time of the season."
On Wednesday night, the highly-thought-of 2015 second-round draft pick logged 11:54 and finished a minus-1 in his second outing topside this season.
He opened his 2017-2018 NHL seasonal account with 13:32 of ice time against the Coyotes.
Hustled into the lineup the last two games because of an injury to T.J. Brodie, the 21-year-old from Malmo, Sweden, was busy fulfilling his vast promise in Stockton, contributing 38 points - second on the Heat - in 53 games, in the process receiving an invite to Utica, N.Y. and the Adirondack Bank Center in late January for the AHL All Star Classic.
"I've always wanted to be the type of player who's out there at key times, whether we're up or down a goal. I want responsibility.
"This year in Stockton, I've been able to work on my game, in all areas.
Last season, Andersson spent a month with the Flames - making his big-league debut with a single appearance in the process, April 8 vs. San Jose - acclimatizing himself with life in the NHL.
What plans the organization has for him in the immediate future - the Heat are currently embroiled in a push to make the playoffs in the AHL's Pacific Division - remains to be seen.
"I thought I had a good camp here this year,'' he said Wednesday, harkening back to September. "I was right on the borderline, among the last cuts. So I knew I had to go down and kinda make a stand, show them that I didn't want to play in the minors, I wanted to play up top.
"I think that's what I've done.
"I believe I'm deserving of this opportunity.
"This is a different level. But this is where I want to be."
