Calgary Flames

Dustin Wolf and Matt Coronato will each make his NHL debut when the Flames host the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday (10 p.m. ET; TNT, SN1, SNW, TVAS).
"With those two boys, they've been really good at whatever level they're at, so it's the next part for them," coach Darryl Sutter said. "If you just do Dustin, you think about how good he was in junior and you think how good he's been so far in the American (Hockey) League, this is kind of the reward for him. For Matty, it's the culmination of his year."
Wolf, a goalie selected in the seventh round (No. 214) of the 2019 NHL Draft, is 41-9-2 with a 2.08 goals-against average and .932 save percentage in 53 games with the Calgary Wranglers of the AHL this season.
He is also the reigning Baz Bastien Memorial Award winner as the AHL's outstanding goalie after posting a 33-9-4 record with a 2.35 goals-against average and .924 save percentage as a rookie in 2021-22.
"I'm trying to maybe downplay it a little bit, but obviously I'm pretty excited," Wolf said. "You dream of this moment your whole life and for the day to finally come, it's pretty special. Just try to take it all in."
Coronato, a right wing who was selected with the No. 13 pick in the 2021 draft, signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Flames on March 26 after completing his sophomore season at Harvard.
He'd been a healthy scratch during Calgary's attempt to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Flames were eliminated from playoff contention in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Nashville Predators on Monday.
"I'm feeling good," said Coronato, who had 36 points (20 goals, 16 assists) in 34 games at Harvard. "These guys have been awesome with making me feeling comfortable. I've been here for a few weeks, so feel good around the guys, which helps a lot." -- Aaron Vickers

Colorado Avalanche

Artturi Lehkonen could return for the Avalanche when they host the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday (8 p.m. ET; ALT, TSN3, ESPN+, SN NOW).
The forward has missed 15 games following surgery to repair a fractured finger sustained in an 8-4 win at the Montreal Canadiens on March 13.
"I think we could see him in these next two games," coach Jared Bednar said after an optional practice Wednesday.
Lehkonen is third on the Avalanche with 20 goals and fifth with 49 points in 62 games this season, both NHL career highs.
Josh Manson, who has missed 21 games since re-injuring his previous lower-body injury in a 7-5 loss to the New Jersey Devils on March 1, could be ready for the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs next week.
"I'm expecting Manson to be back," Bednar said of the defenseman.
Manson previously missed 31 games after leaving Colorado's 6-4 win at the Buffalo Sabres on Dec. 1 with the lower-body injury. He has 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 27 games this season.
Forward Darren Helm has resumed skating after missing five games with a recurring lower-body injury. He's not expected to be ready for the start of the playoffs.
"I'm just waiting on him to say he's good, but he's not joining the group yet or anything. So it's going to be a little bit," Bednar said. "I don't know if he'll be ready. We'll see. He could be."
There's no update on forward Gabriel Landeskog's timeline. He has missed all 80 games this season following knee surgery.
"He's made progress, for sure," Bednar said. "Still not ready to go. So I guess minimal [progress]. He's pushing himself to the limits of what he feels like he can do." -- Ryan Boulding
