Nazem Kadri is giving back to his hometown of London, Ontario in a big way.

The Calgary Flames forward announced his donation of $1 million to the London Health Sciences Centre on Thursday.
The donation will go to the Ambulatory Surgical Centre that will be renamed the Nazem Kadri Surgical Centre in his honor.
"As a kid growing up in London, Ontario, my community was very important to me and my family," Kadri said in a Twitter video posted to LHSF Canada account. "As I got older, I felt the need to contribute back to the community that raised me. I'm honored to give back to my community by establishing the Nazem Kadri Surgical Centre."

The newly renamed surgical center offers services for low-risk and less complex surgeries.
This isn't the first time Kadri has shown love to his hometown this summer.
He celebrated his day with the Stanley Cup in Ontario, taking the trophy to the London Muslim Mosque in August.
Kadri signed a seven year, $49 million contract with the Flames this summer after winning the Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in June.
