Chychrun, McBain lead Coyotes past Wild, 3-2

TEMPE, Ariz. --Jakob Chychrun scored twice, and Jack McBain got the go-ahead goal in the third period to help the Arizona Coyotes rally for a 3-2 win against the Minnesota Wild at Mullett Arena on Monday.

McBain gave the Coyotes a 3-2 lead at 13:12, taking advantage of a bad pinch to get loose on a breakaway and score on the backhand. Chychrun tied it 2-2 at 9:35 with his second goal of the game, a glove side wrist shot from the left face-off circle.
"It wasn't too pretty, the puck was rolling and I was trying to get it up and going and it worked out," McBain said.

MIN@ARI: McBain puts Coyotes ahead on breakaway goal

Karel Vejmelka made 33 saves for Arizona (17-28-6), which had lost 13 of 16 (3-12-1).
Kirill Kaprizov and Jonas Brodin scored for Minnesota (27-18-4), which had won two straight. Marc-Andre Fleury made 33 saves.
"These were a huge two points tonight, but they're gone and we'd have to regroup here and get ourselves in a position where we can adjust and correct," Wild coach Dean Evason said.
It was each team's first game since Jan. 28.
"Those can be tough games after a long break like that, but I think the boys did a really good job of preparing and being ready from the start," Chychrun said. "I thought we came out with a lot of energy and [Vejmelka] was unbelievable, keeping us in the game and giving us an opportunity to come out with points."

MIN@ARI: Kaprizov finishes off nice passing sequence

Kaprizov gave Minnesota a 1-0 lead at 3:39 of the second period on a one-timer from the right circle, finishing off a tic-tac-toe sequence with Mats Zuccarello and Calen Addison.
Chychrun tied it 1-1 at 9:26 with a power-play goal, a drive from the high slot 29 seconds into a tripping penalty on Ryan Hartman. It was Chychrun's first goal in 15 games since Jan. 3.

MIN@ARI: Chychrun scores PPG in 2nd period

Brodin put the Wild ahead 2-1 at 1:40 of the third after Chychrun turned the puck over to Joel Eriksson Ek in the slot.
"We felt like we were coming, but we took a couple of more penalties and we get out of our rhythm again," Evason said. "It would have been nice to play 5-on-5 and just be able to shut down, but we weren't able to do that."
Arizona had five power plays in the first 30 minutes and finished 1-for-6. Minnesota was 0-for-4.
"Five-on-5, I thought we were good," Fleury said. "We turned the puck over and cleared the puck a lot, and were in the zone a bunch, but during that [penalty] time you can't get momentum."
