Marc-Andre Fleury earned his 460th victory and moved into fifth place on the NHL all-time list by making 23 saves for the Vegas Golden Knights in their 7-2 win against the Florida Panthers at BB&T Center on Thursday. Fleury, who has 85 victories with Vegas after 375 with the Pittsburgh Penguins, moved past longtime rival Henrik Lundqvist, whose 459 wins have all come with the New York Rangers.

Before Thursday, the last time Fleury had more wins than Lundqvist was entering play on Oct. 27, 2005, when he had four (4-15-1 with two ties) and Lundqvist, then a rookie, had three (3-1-2).
Four of the five winningest goalies in NHL history are from the province of Quebec, with Fleury (Sorel) joining Martin Brodeur (Montreal), Patrick Roy (Quebec City) and Roberto Luongo (Montreal).
One of Fleury's saves came on a second-period penalty shot by Panthers forward Brett Connolly. It was the 20th regular-season penalty shot of Fleury's NHL career, moving him past Ryan Miller (19) for second-most in NHL history. Luongo (29) has the most since the stat officially began being tracked in 1934-35.

Makar, Hughes first rookies to 40 points

Two defensemen, Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche and Quinn Hughes of the Vancouver Canucks, each hit the scoresheet to become the first rookies to reach the 40-point mark this season. Makar (12 goals, 28 assists) scored a goal and had an assist in Colorado's 4-1 win against the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre; Hughes (eight goals, 32 assists) had an assist for the Canucks in a 4-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center.

Makar (University of Massachusetts) and Hughes (Michigan) each played two seasons in the NCAA before reaching the NHL. Only six skaters in the NHL's expansion era (since 1967-68) have concluded a regular season leading all rookies in points after coming to the League from the NCAA: Joe Nieuwendyk of the Calgary Flames in 1987-88 (92 points; 51 goals, 41 assists), Brian Leetch of the Rangers in 1988-89 (71 points; 23 goals, 48 assists), Tony Amonte of the Rangers in 1991-92 (69 points; 35 goals, 34 assists), Mike Johnson of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1997-98 (47 points; 15 goals, 32 assists), Dany Heatley of the Atlanta Thrashers in 2001-02 (67 points; 26 goals, 41 assists) and Johnny Gaudreau of the Calgary Flames in 2014-15 (64 points; 24 goals, 40 assists). Leetch, who played for Boston College in 1986-87 before joining the U.S. Olympic Team, is the only defenseman in that group.

Vasilevskiy, Lightning extend streaks

Andrei Vasilevskiy extended his point streak to 17 games (15-0-2) by making 29 saves for the Tampa Bay Lightning in a 4-2 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Amalie Arena.
Vasilevskiy set a Lightning record for longest point streak by a goalie, eclipsing the mark of 16 games (12 wins, four ties) set by Nikolai Khabibulin from Feb. 15-April 2, 2003.

Vasilevskiy became the ninth different NHL goalie since 1979-80 with a point streak of at least 17 games. He also set a League record for longest point streak by a Russia-born goalie, surpassing Khabibulin and Sergei Bobrovsky, who was 15-0-1 for the Columbus Blue Jackets from Nov. 25, 2016-Jan. 3, 2017.
He's the ninth NHL goalie in the past 40 years to have a point streak of at least 17 games.

Tampa Bay (34-15-5) won its eighth consecutive home game, one shy of the Canucks for the longest active streak in the NHL. The longest home winning streak in Lightning history is 10, set from Dec. 11, 2014-Jan. 31, 2015.

McDavid joins Oilers teammate Draisaitl in 80-point club

Connor McDavid scored for the Edmonton Oilers in their 6-3 loss to the San Jose Sharks at Rogers Place to become the second player in the NHL to reach the 80-point mark this season.
The center (80 points; 30 goals, 50 assists) and teammate and center Leon Draisaitl (83 points; 29 goals, 54 assists) give the Oilers multiple 80-point scorers after 54 games for the first time since 1985-86 (Wayne Gretzky, Paul Coffey and Jari Kurri) and the fifth time since Edmonton joined the NHL in 1979.
