Matt Martin's new daughter is a New York Islanders fan, no matter the color of her baby blanket or what her grandfather says.

The Islanders forward cleared up any confusion about who Winnie Martin supports by posting a picture of her in an Islanders coat on Friday.

Martin's wife Sydney gave birth to the couple's first child Windsor on Wednesday. Sydney's dad Boomer Esiason, a New York radio personality and diehard New York Rangers fan, started the baby's fan debate by suggesting the red, white and blue stripping on her blanket made her a Rangers fan.

Even though he wouldn't let Boomer's post slide, Martin appreciates the bond between his daughter and her grandpa.

"He's been great," Martin said. "He got to meet her (Thursday). … I think he's excited."

Martin, who will participate for the Islanders in their Eastern Conference Qualifier against the Florida Panthers in Toronto starting Aug. 1, also is excited to be a dad.

"It's just been an unbelievable couple of days," Martin said. "It's such an amazing experience. I'm looking forward to watching her grow up."
