We Raised a Bunch Of Sweet Canes Jerks

The Carolina Hurricanes moms produced a hit. Not of the hockey variety, but a catchy tune with some help from country singer-songwriter Karen Staley.

Carolina's hockey moms wrote an ode to their sons "A Bunch of Sweet Canes Jerks," then sang it behind Staley during their tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame on the Hurricanes moms trip in Nashville.
Carolina's moms were at Carolina's game Sunday against the Edmonton Oilers then took to the road to in the Music City as part of their sons' game against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. Part of their time included a private dinner with their boys, a trip to Tootsie's Orchid Lounge and the session with Staley, who released three singles and wrote "The Keeper of the Stars" for Tracy Byrd and "Take Me as I Am" and "Let's Go to Vegas" for Faith Hill.
"The whole thing has been awesome," Wendy Martinook, mom of Carolina forward Jordan Martinook, told the Hurricanes website. "I really liked the songwriting. I really liked Tootsie's. I liked it all."
The moms even got special patches on their personalized jerseys to commemorate the trip.

The Hurricanes did their part to make their moms proud with a 4-1 victory.

"You don't want to disappoint mom," said Hurricanes forward Justin Williams. "Dad gets angry, mom gets disappointed. We didn't want to do that."
There undoubtedly were dozens of memories made during the trip, but the moms joined their sons to share some of the best from raising hockey players.
