With only 15 skaters dressed due to injuries and salary cap constraints, the Vegas Golden Knights (39-14-2) fell a goal short in a 2-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche (37-13-4) on Monday night at T-Mobile Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Alex Pietrangelo opened the scoring for Vegas with his sixth goal of the season at 8:11 of the first. The Golden Knights held the lead until Andre Burakovsky tied the game midway through the second. J.T. Compher's goal in the third period was the difference as Colorado picked up the 2-1 win.
