After a 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames last night, the Sharks continue on their Western Canada road trip to take on the Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks, currently 5 points behind the Sharks for the final spot in the playoffs in the Western Conference, have been going through a rough patch recently, epitomized by their 7-1 loss to the Nashville Predators on Wednesday. Of course, that gives the home team extra incentive to win tonight, along with the extra rest.
Jones Donskoi earned the game-winner in his first game back from Injured Reserve, a goal that saw him take advantage of a loose puck behind the goaltender. That tenacity help break a 2-2 tie midway through the third period, and also preserved the Sharks undefeated record when entering the third period with a lead. Chris Tierney and Timo Meier also scored against the Flames, meaning the newly formed third line provided all three of the goals.
Last night's game broke the streak of two power play goals per game, but it still saw the Sharks score a goal on the man advantage. The Sharks special teams are now firmly in the top half of the league, with the power play ranked 12th and the penalty kill ranked 2nd. The Sharks look to continue that trend tonight.

With no morning skate, it wasn't until a couple hours before gametime that any changes to the lineup were revealed.
As expected, North Vancouver native Martin Jones gets the start on the second half of this back-to-back. The rest of the lineup remains unchanged after the 3-2 win.
