Flames winger Michael Frolik will not play for the Czech Republic at the 2018 IIHF World Championship, which runs May 4-20 in Denmark.
Frolik's second child is due this week and he will be spending time with his family during the tournament.
The 30-year-old is coming off a 10-goal, 25-point season with the Flames. He dressed for 70 games this year, missing 12 games due to an upper body injury he sustained in late December.

The winger has represented his country on multiple occasions, playing in the Under-18 World Junior Championship, the Under-20 World Junior Championship and the Olympic Games.
Frolik has played in the World Championship on two other occasions, scoring five goals and eight points in 19 skates.
