Brian Burke's daughter Molly apparently always knew her dad would work for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The daughter of Brian Burke shared an old-school photo of herself in a Pittsburgh jersey after her dad accepted the Penguins president of hockey operations role Tuesday.

Burke joined the Penguins after working for Sportsnet since 2018. He previously worked as an executive with the Hartford Whalers, Vancouver Canucks, Anaheim Ducks, Toronto Maple Leafs and Calgary Flames.
He also appreciated his daughter's predictive ability.

Burke is popular around the NHL, and some of his former players, including ex-Ducks forward Teemu Selanne, shared their congratulations.

Burke joined the Penguins alongside Ron Hextall, the former Philadelphia Flyers goalie and general manager, who was named Penguins GM. Hextall's dad Bryan Jr. spent five seasons with the Penguins from 1969-74. His cousin Leah, a hockey broadcaster, shared an old photo of the new Pittsburgh general manager in a dapper white suit to celebrate the news.
