The Ottawa Senators and Minnesota Wild forwards are among the group that will compete using the new edition of the EA Sports game at 3 p.m. on Saturday on twitch.tv/nhl. Encore presentations will air on NBCSN in the U.S., Sportsnet in Canada and Viasat in Europe, as well as the NHL's social platforms.
LeafyTV, a biology student at the University of Florida, OGKevinBacon, a full-time streamer, THRASH, a full-time content creator, Pavel Barber, a stickhandling skills specialist and trick shot artist who helped EA Sports with the motion capture for NHL21, James Mirtle, editor-in-chief for Canadian operations of The Athletic Media company, and Carrlyn Baithe, a reporter for the Los Angeles Kings, are also taking part in the competition.
Arda Ocal, Andrew 'Nasher' Telfer, and NBC Sports correspondent and former Notre Dame wide receiver Corey Robinson are providing commentary and analysis.
A wide range of game modes will be employed so the gamers can get the full scope of NHL 21, including Hockey Ultimate Team RUSH, which allows players to jump into HUT games quickly and encourages skill and creativity.
A $7,500 donation will be made to the Boys & Girls Clubs on behalf of the winner to help build and support youth hockey and skating programming. A $2,500 donation will be made for the competitor who scores the most points.
