LOS ANGELES -- The Edmonton Oilers hung on for a 4-3 win against the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center on Saturday.
Dustin Brown appeared to tie the game 4-4 in the final seconds. After time expired, it was ruled that the puck crossed the goal line with 9.8 seconds left, but the goal then was overturned after review because of goalie interference.

"It's frustrating. At the end of the day, though, we can't wait until the last 10 seconds to score a goal like that, but at the end of the day, I think it's a goal," Brown said.
Anton Slepyshev, Leon Draisaitl, Jujhar Khaira and Ryan Strome scored, and Michael Cammalleri had three assists for Edmonton (26-31-4), which has won three of four games. Cam Talbot made 30 saves.
"I thought we could have done a better job in those last few minutes, but not going to dwell on that a lot," Oilers coach Todd McLellan said. "We haven't won in this building for a long, long time. We'll take any type of win that we can get."

Brown, Tyler Toffoli and Tobias Rieder scored for the Kings, who have lost two games in a row. Jonathan Quick made 21 saves.
Los Angeles (33-24-5) is two points behind the Calgary Flames and Anaheim Ducks for third place in the Pacific Division.
Kings center Jeff Carter had four shots on goal and won 11 of 16 faceoffs in 17:36 in his first game since Oct. 18. He missed 55 games after surgery to repair a torn tendon in his left ankle.
Strome scored into an empty net to give the Oilers a 4-2 lead with 59 seconds left in the third period.
Brown tipped in a Drew Doughty shot to make it 4-3 with 18.7 seconds remaining.
Anze Kopitar won the ensuing faceoff, and the Kings quickly got the puck into the Oilers zone. Talbot made a save on Brown with 11 seconds left, but Brown knocked in the rebound. The Situation Room initiated the review that determined Brown illegally pushed Talbot's pad and the puck across the goal line after Talbot made a save.
Toffoli said the Kings must play that aggressively early in games.

"We were playing desperate," he said. "It was good to see, but we have to do that from the start, play a full 60 minutes."
Slepyshev gave the Oilers a 1-0 lead 51 seconds into the game. On a delayed penalty, Strome passed to Slepyshev for a one-timer from the left hash marks.
The Oilers committed three penalties in the opening 8:57, including a delay of game call against Darnell Nurse that gave the Kings 1:06 at 5-on-3, but Talbot made five saves during the early kills.
Draisaitl made it 2-0 at 6:16 of the second period. Cammalleri took a long pass from Adam Larsson to set up a 2-on-1 rush and fed Draisaitl in the high slot for a one-timer.
Draisaitl scored for the second straight game and has nine points (five goals, four assists) in his past eight games.
Toffoli scored his 20th goal at 14:26 of the second to make it 2-1, but Khaira skated past Christian Folin and Michael Amadio to put the Oilers up 3-1 at 17:04.
Rieder swatted in his first goal for the Kings since being acquired in a trade from the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday, making it 3-2 at 7:51 of the third period.

They said it

"Not the ideal way we wanted to end it. When you go up by two goals with under a minute, it should be a done deal, but I guess you could say we found a way to gut one out and got a call."--Oilers goalie Cam Talbot
"He was playing well. He was skating, per usual, and getting to the puck. I think the rest will come kind of when he starts playing more and feeling a little more comfortable out there."-- Kings forward Tyler Toffoli on center Jeff Carter's first game after missing 55 following ankle surgery
