Caufield's dad hat Youppi

Don’t worry Cole Caufield, Youppi has your dad covered.

The Montreal Canadiens mascot gifted the star forward’s dad, Paul, team hats before Game 3 of the Eastern Conference First Round against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Bell Centre on Friday.

In a video posted by the team on social media, Youppi stacked three Canadiens hats on top of the hat Paul was already wearing. Paul thanked the mascot and told him he liked the caps as his son taped the moment on his phone.

In Caufield’s “The Player’s Tribune” article published on Thursday, the Canadiens forward joked about his dad wearing a Milwaukee Brewers hat as he scored his 50th goal of the season on April 9.

“I think most people have probably seen the clip of my dad crying in the stands,” Caufield wrote in the article. “Me and my brother were cracking up, because of course he’s wearing a Brewers cap. The guy’s son plays for the Habs and he’s weeping on camera in the quarter-zip and the Brew Crew hat. I guess he had Opening Day fever. Classic. (Security, don’t let him in the building tomorrow without a Habs hat on.)”

Luckily, Caufield’s dad was allowed into the building Friday night.
