Cozens signs three-year, entry-level contract with Sabres

Forward was No. 7 pick in 2019 NHL Draft

Dylan Cozens, the No. 7 pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Buffalo Sabres on Monday.

Financial terms were not released.

The 18-year-old forward led Lethbridge of the Western Hockey League with 84 points (34 goals, 50 assists) in 68 games last season, and had nine points (four goals, five assists) for Canada at the 2019 IIHF World U-18 Championship.

Cozens could miss the start of training camp; he had surgery after injuring his left thumb on June 29, the final day of Sabres development camp.
