Fantasy picks: Jakub Voracek's line worth stacking

Each day this season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will provide daily picks for DraftKings NHL contests. This list of targets includes expensive and value options at each position to help you build a winning roster.
C - Connor McDavid ($8,000)
McDavid has six points and 12 shots on goal in four career games against the Calgary Flames, including two goals and one assist in the Edmonton Oilers' season opener Wednesday. He's the second most expensive skater on a night with three games, but you'll want to spend up for him in case he has another big game against the Flames on Friday (9 p.m. ET; SN360, SN1, NHL.TV). If you're looking for a line stack, it's more convenient to roster his left wing, Milan Lucic ($5,400), than his right wing, Jordan Eberle ($6,300).

C - Ryan Johansen ($5,600)
Johansen, seventh among centers in price, should factor into the scoring against the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, TVA Sports, CSN-CH, NHL.TV). The Blackhawks allowed five goals in their opener against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday. With the addition of defenseman P.K. Subban, the Nashville Predators will display their high-octane offense and new-look first power-play unit, which includes Johansen. He had 34 points, 11 on the power play, in 42 regular-season games with the Predators last season.
W - Jakub Voracek ($6,300)
Voracek is in a great spot against the Los Angeles Kings, who will be without injured goalie Jonathan Quick against the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday (10:30 p.m. ET; FS-W, CSN-PH, NHL.TV). The Flyers right wing is a high-volume shooter but had 11 goals on an extremely low shooting percentage (5.2) last season. He remains a first power-play staple for the Flyers alongside center Claude Giroux and defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere, and has bounce-back potential with left wing prospect Travis Konecny ($3,700) on his line at even strength.
W - Jesse Puljujarvi ($4,100)
Puljujarvi, 18, scored a power-play goal on two shots on goal in the Oilers opener against the Flames, playing mostly on the second line with Leon Draisaitl and Patrick Maroon. He also saw time on the second power-play unit. The Oilers and Flames could have another high-scoring game Friday, so getting a piece of the Oilers' first two lines is recommended.

D - P.K. Subban ($6,000)
Subban had 51 points in 68 games last season with the Montreal Canadiens, and should be more motivated after being traded to the Predators on June 29. He got off to a flying start in the preseason, with four points and five shots on goal in four games, and is fourth among Friday defensemen in price. He got an upgrade in power-play personnel with the Predators because of puck-moving defenseman Roman Josi.
D - Ivan Provorov ($3,400)
Provorov, who cracked the Flyers roster after a strong preseason and an injury to Michael Del Zotto, faces a Kings offense that has holes in their top six without injured Marian Gaborik. Provorov had two assists and 10 shots on goal in six preseason games and faces his biggest test yet Friday. He's well worth a DFS flier priced $900 above the DraftKings minimum. He has a strong two-way game, so expect a few blocked shots in his debut.
G - Pekka Rinne ($7,900)
The goalies are a toss-up on a three-game night that could see a few high-scoring games, but Rinne has fared respectably through the years against the Blackhawks, going 16-14-4 with a .919 save percentage and two shutouts in 35 games. He has a deeper offense than he's ever had, and always has a strong chance at the win bonus at home; his 47 home wins the past two seasons are tied for the most in the League.
G - Michal Neuvirth ($7,400)
Neuvirth will get the start over Steve Mason in Philadelphia's opener against Los Angeles -- a vote of confidence after an amazing Stanley Cup Playoff showing. He went 18-8-4 with a .924 SV% in 32 regular-season games, and then was better during the postseason, returning from injury to go 2-1 with a .981 SV% in three games against the Washington Capitals in the Eastern Conference First Round. Matched up against Kings backup Jeff Zatkoff, Neuvirth is the best DFS goalie value of the night.
