Video Review: COL @ CHI - 18:43 of the Second Period

At 18:43 of the second period in the Avalanche/Blackhawks game, the Situation Room initiated a video review to examine whether Brandon Saad kicked the puck into the Colorado net. Video review determined that after Saad used a distinct kicking motion to kick the puck, it deflected off goaltender Semyon Varlamov's blocker and into the net. According to Rule 49.2 (i), "A kicked puck that deflects off the body of any player of either team (including the goalkeeper) shall be ruled no goal". No goal Chicago.
