Stan Bowman Chicago Blackhawks GM

The Chicago Blackhawks will have the No. 27 pick in the 2018 NHL Draft after the Nashville Predators were eliminated from the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Chicago acquired the pick Feb. 26 in a trade that sent forward Ryan Hartman to Nashville. The Blackhawks (33-39-10) also hold the No. 8 pick after falling one spot in the NHL Draft Lottery, held April 28.

As the Presidents' Trophy winner this season, that is the highest pick Nashville could have had. If the Predators advanced to the Stanley Cup Final, as they did last season, the pick would have been No. 30 or No. 31.
Nashville, the defending Western Conference champion, was eliminated with a 5-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets in Game 7 on Thursday. Hartman was traded for the first-round pick and a fourth-round pick in the 2018 draft, and forward prospect Victor Ejdsell.
The New York Rangers will have the No. 26 pick, obtained from the Boston Bruins as part of the trade for forward Rick Nash.
The final four selections in the NHL Draft will be determined by the results of the conference finals. The losers of the series between the Washington Capitals and Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Jets and Vegas Golden Knights, will get picks No. 28 and No. 29.
Only Washington holds its pick. The Tampa Bay pick will go to the New York Rangers as part of the trade for defenseman Ryan McDonagh and forward J.T. Miller. The Winnipeg pick will go to the St. Louis Blues as part of the trade for forward Paul Stastny. The Vegas pick will go to the Detroit Red Wings as part of the trade for forward Tomas Tatar.
The Ottawa Senators obtained the No. 22 pick when the Pittsburgh Penguins were eliminated by the Capitals in the second round.
