Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk will return after missing three games because of a concussion sustained in a 5-4 shootout win against the Minnesota Wild on Oct. 7. Van Riemsdyk, who was acquired in a trade with the Vegas Golden Knights on June 22, had 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) in 58 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season.

Hurricanes goaltender Scott Darling will make his fourth start in the past five games. He is 1-1-1 with a 2.58 goals-against average and .893 save percentage.
Goalie Mike Smith (4-2-0) has a 2.59 GAA and .929 save percentage, and has started all six games for Calgary.
