Evgeny Kuznetsov needed a stick to play with, unfortunately he picked up the wrong one.

The Washington Capitals center was penalized for playing with illegal equipment after he yanked Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Nick Holden's stick as it was stuck in the boards.

Kuznetsov lost his stick as he was forechecking Holden, whose stick was stuck in the glass. Kuznetsov delivered a check on Vegas forward Alex Tuch and lost track of his stick before frantically picking up Holden's as the Capitals possessed the puck.

Kuznetsov looked at the errant twig, then saw his lying on the ground and tried to drop it, but it was too late. He'd already been whistled for two hilarious minutes.
