DENVER --Andre Burakovsky is out for the Colorado Avalanche for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.

The forward left Colorado's 7-0 win in Game 2 on Saturday early in the second period after being hit in the hand by a shot from Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman. He is day to day.
Burakovsky did not travel with the Avalanche to Tampa on Sunday and didn't participate in the morning skate Monday. He was expected to join them there Monday at some point, coach Jared Bednar said.
Forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel replaced Burakovsky in the lineup.
The Avalanche lead the best-of-7 series 2-0 entering Game 3 at Amalie Arena (8 p.m. ET; ABC, ESPN+, CBC, SN, TVAS).
Burakovsky scored in overtime in Colorado's 4-3 victory in Game 1, then had a goal and assist in Game 2 before being injured. He has eight points (three goals, five assists) in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games after he had an NHL career-high 61 points (22 goals, 39 assists) in 80 regular-season games.

Nazem Kadri is getting closer to returning for Colorado and is day to day. The forward has been skating since Thursday but has not practiced with the Avalanche yet. He worked with a skills coach at the end of the morning skate Monday.
"Yeah, it'll be a test, but nothing that we haven't seen before," Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog said about likely being without Burakovsky and Kadri in Game 3. "Regular season all along and basically the playoffs, it's been whoever's ready and whoever can go is going to go. It's no different tonight."
Kadri had surgery for a hand injury he sustained in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final against the Edmonton Oilers on June 4. He left at 1:06 of the first period after he was boarded by Oilers forward Evander Kane, who received a major penalty and was suspended one game.
"Not sure on 'Naz's timeline yet," Bednar said Sunday. " … Obviously he's progressing. He's been skating every day. He's put his stick into it. He's starting to shoot pucks now and handle the puck more, catching and releasing it, like passing and shooting. So we're hopeful we're going to see him at some point. I'm not sure if it's Game 3 or Game 4."
Kadri had an NHL career-high 87 points (28 goals, 59 assists) in 71 regular-season games and has 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 13 playoff games.
