duckhunt

It may be spring but for the San Jose Sharks, it's duck hunting season.

The team gave out some unique towels to fans for Games 3 and 4 while completing their Western Conference First Round series sweep against the Anaheim Ducks, inspired by the classic video game "Duck Hunt."
The Game 3 towel was a spoof of the cover of the original Nintendo game, which was released in North America in 1985. The framing was identical, but instead of a large duck, there was a large shark, menacingly chomping at three smaller ducks.

The towels left on the seats of SAP Center for Game 4 were of the game's famous post-round scene from the game, but, of course a giant shark [in a San Jose Sharks jersey] replaces the game's bloodhound.

The unique giveaway was a collaborative effort from the team's marketing department. Graphic designer Laurence Roman, director of marketing and fan development Casey Lepannen and head of creative services department Whitney Hallock led the team that brought the idea to life.
