Sliding Patrice Bergeron came to the rescue Tuesday.

The Boston Bruins center saved a sure goal with a sliding kick save on Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov during the first period of their game.
Boston goalie Tuukka Rask fell out of position after kicking out an attempt from Brayden Point, but Bergeron slid in front of the vacant net to stymie Kucherov's backhand attempt, denying him from scoring his 38th goal and keeping the game scoreless.
It showcased once again why Bergeron has been a Selke Trophy finalist in each of the past six seasons and won it four times.
