Boston Fleet at Bruins game

It’s only fitting to have the Olympic champions in the house for Women in Sports Night.

The Boston Bruins welcomed the PWHL’s Boston Fleet — captained by Olympian Megan Keller — to TD Garden on Tuesday for their game against the Dallas Stars.

During a break in the action during the first period, fans at the arena gave the Fleet a standing ovation when the players were shown on the big screen.

In celebration of Women in Sports Night, Bruins players walked in with members of the Girls Learn to Play Program, an organization that introduces young athletes to the sport of hockey.

The youth players then joined the Fleet for the game.

Playing into the Fleet theme of the night, Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy rocked a team shirt in the locker room before the game.

Other players sported T-shirts and sweaters from New England professional women’s teams.

Also in attendance on Tuesday was New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, along with his wife Ann Michael Maye.
