Preseason Roundup: Blues sweep Blue Jackets

St. Louis scores seven goals at home, gets shutout win on road against Columbus @NHL

Forward Kenny Agostino had two goals and three assists, forward Samuel Blais had a goal and three assists and defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk had two goals and an assist to help the St. Louis Blues to a 7-3 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets in their first split-squad preseason game at Scottrade Center on Sunday.

Blues center Paul Stastny scored and goalie Jake Allen stopped 13 of 16 shots in his preseason debut.

Scott Hartnell had two goals and an assist for the Blue Jackets, who allowed four goals in the third period. Sam Gagner had a goal and two assists.

Goalie Joonas Korpisalo played the entire game for the Blue Jackets and made 21 saves.

Blues backup goalie Carter Hutton played the third period and made two saves.

Jordan Binnington (12 saves) and Pheonix Copley (11 saves) combined for a shutout and TJ Galiardi, Eric Nystrom and Jordan Kyrou each had a goal and an assist to lead St. Louis past Columbus at Nationwide Arena in the second game. 

Goalie Anton Forsberg started for the Blue Jackets and allowed three goals on 28 shots. He was relieved at the start of the third period by Lucas Peressini, who made five saves on seven shots.

Binnington, the Blues' third-round pick (No. 88) at the 2011 NHL Draft, was replaced by Copley with 8:41 left in the second period.
