After he scored his second goal of the season on March 9, he decided he needed his own goal song for his next tally, a special occasion given he had just seven goals in 267 NHL games going into the Lightning's 5-3 win against the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday.
When the puck went off his skate past Petr Mrazek early in the second period, his selection of Britney Spears' "Oops, I Did It Again" made his teammates lose all their senses.
"I've been on him before every game that I can't wait to hear his song." defenseman Victor Hedman said. "I had no clue what it was though. It was pretty funny when it came on. He deserved it though."
Given Sustr's infrequent scoring, some of his teammates weren't sure they'd ever hear the mystery selection that he said was the first thing that came to mind when they started joking about him having his own goal song.
"When he set it up, I didn't think we'd have the pleasure of listening to it," forward Alex Killorn said. "But it was hilarious and that's the kind of guy he is."
It's not hard to visualize coach Jon Cooper putting face to palm when the song played based on his reaction.
"I clearly blocked that one out," he said.
Sorry, coach. Sustr's not that innocent.
