Alex Ovechkin delivered one championship to Washington. On Monday he'll do his part to help the Washington Nationals in their postseason run.

The Washington Capitals captain will throw out the ceremonial first pitch for Game 4 of the National League Division Series between the Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Ovechkin is no stranger to the mound at Nationals Park.
He delivered the first pitch
on June 9, 2018 and got two chances to throw a strike before Washington's game against the San Francisco Giants, two days after he won the Conn Smythe Trophy and helped the Capitals win the Stanley Cup for their first championship in 43 NHL seasons.
Aside from his pitches in Washington, Ovechkin also made guest pitching appearances before a Baltimore Orioles game against the Los Angeles Angels at Camden Yards in 2011 and a United States vs. Canada baseball game in Durham, North Carolina in 2004.
The Nationals are seeking their first championship in team history in their fifth postseason appearance since they moved from Montreal in 2005. They tied the best-of-5 series at 1 with a 4-2 win at Dodger Stadium on Friday.
Ovechkin will follow Iraq War medal of honor recipient David Bellavia, who will toss the first pitch at Game 3 in Washington on Sunday.
