TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have assigned forward Dominic James to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

James, 24, skated in 43 games with the Bolts last season, recording seven goals and 15 points while averaging 12:14 of time on ice. He went on to appear in all seven playoff games for Tampa Bay, logging two goals and three points to rank tied for second among all Lightning skaters for goals. 

A native of Plymouth, Michigan, James played in four games with the Crunch last season, notching three goals and five points before being recalled by the Bolts on October 22, 2025.

James was originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round, 173rd overall, of the 2022 NHL Draft and was signed by Tampa Bay as a free agent on September 20, 2025.
